More info and how to use

This cleansing gel is uniquely refreshing and soothing, being based on meadow grown peppermint (which have a toning, stimulating and cooling action) and balancing chamomile (which has a calming effect on unhappy skin whilst gently toning tired skin). Both the peppermint and chamomile are harvested during the long hot days of summer, and are distilled on the farm on the very same day to capture their incredible aroma and properties. The addition of a gentle sugar based surfactant to these pure floral waters ensures that oils and any accumulated dirt (make-up, pollutants, excess sebum, sweat) are washed away, leaving the skin clean and comfortable.

All skin types (particularly normal and problem/unbalanced skin)

Directions for use: Massage into skin and wash off using warm water. Avoid the eye area.

KEY:
*meadow grown ingredient

Peppermint Hydrosol - made from handpicked meadow-grown peppermint leaves, distilled in small batches in our workshop. Known for its ability to cool the skin, stimulate the mind, soothe irritation and tone up tired skin.

Chamomile hydrosol – made from hand-picked meadow-grown Roman chamomile flowers, distilled in small batches in our workshop. Known for its ability to tone the skin, gently tighten pores and soothe irritated/unhappy skin.

Sugar based surfactant - A blend of two very gentle natural foaming agents that are effective at cleansing but incredibly mild on the skin; decyl glucoside is made from sugar cane whilst cocamidopropyl betaine is derived from coconuts; both are natural and gentle enough even to be used in baby products.

Frequently Asked Questions

1/ What skin type is Peppermint Cleansing Gel best for? It can be used by all skin types but is particularly well suited to normal, combination and unbalanced skin. Meadow-grown peppermint gives the cleanser its wonderfully fresh, cooling character, while chamomile helps keep the overall formulation gentle and comfortable. It’s our choice for skin that likes to feel properly clean but never stripped.

2/ Is Peppermint Cleansing Gel good for oily or blemish-prone skin? It is a particularly good fit for skin that tends to feel oily, congested or unbalanced. The formulation uses a mild sugar-based cleansing system to remove excess oil, daily grime, sweat and pollutants, while peppermint and chamomile botanical waters keep the cleansing experience fresh rather than harsh.

3/ Will Peppermint Cleansing Gel dry my skin out? A good cleanser shouldn’t leave your face feeling as though it’s been washed with washing-up liquid. Ours uses gentle cleansing agents alongside our meadow-grown botanical waters and is designed to remove dirt and excess oil while leaving the skin feeling clean and comfortable rather than tight or stripped.

4/ How do I use Peppermint Cleansing Gel? Massage a small amount over damp skin, then rinse thoroughly with warm water. Avoid the immediate eye area. Follow with Meadow Face Mist or your usual toner, then serum and moisturiser. It works particularly well as a fresh morning cleanse or as the second stage of an evening double cleanse.

5/ Is the peppermint in the cleanser actually grown by Seilich? Yes. We harvest peppermint and chamomile from our meadow during summer and distil the freshly picked plants in small batches to make the botanical waters used in the cleanser. They aren’t there simply for fragrance: the plants growing outside the workshop become part of the product inside the bottle.

6/ What is the benefit of Seilich growing its own skincare botanicals? Growing many of our own botanicals means we know exactly where they have come from, how they have been grown and when they were harvested. We can pick plants at the right stage, process them in small batches and turn them into floral waters and extracts ourselves, rather than relying solely on anonymous, ready-made botanical ingredients. Just as importantly, our meadow is managed as wildlife habitat first, so the plants in our skincare are grown as part of a living, diverse ecosystem rather than as a conventional crop.
